I had to look it up, and they have a 46/100 people gun ownership. One of the highest in the world, with no mass shootings in 2 decades. I love guns, and hate restrictions on owning guns. But I have to say, if you aren’t mentally fit then you shouldn’t own one.
I wouldn’t be mad at the idea of the US starting something like this. As long as it was at the federal level (too many states have ridiculous laws as it is now) and people couldn’t influence it negatively to limit people’s ability to own if they are fit. And I gotta say, I don’t have confidence in our governments at the state and federal level to not use it as a tool to limit people’s ability (who are mentally fit) to own guns.

The only legitimate way to curtail the rights of an individual is through conviction and sentencing by jury trial.
