Marjorie Johnson on Supporting the National Mental Health Corps
“Your mind is so powerful. You can be whatever you want to be. You’re master of yourself.”
The National Mental Health Corps is honored to have the support of 105-year-old ‘Blue Ribbon Baker’ Marjorie Johnson during Mental Health Awareness Month. NMHC is leading the charge to solve the mental health workforce crisis through a national initiative, partnering with universities, healthcare organizations, schools, and crisis centers to meet urgent community mental health needs. Together, we can address workforce gaps by building a steady pipeline of trained professionals who are ready to serve in high-need areas and bring about an America where mental wellbeing is possible for all. Find out how you can serve or support us at https://www.nationalmentalhealthcorps.org/.
We want to thank Marjorie Johnson for supporting #NMHC.
Here’s a little about her: Marjorie graduated with a B.S. in ‘Foods in Business’ in 1943 from the University of Minnesota. On her Facebook page, she says, “I like to talk, I like to bake, and I especially like to talk about baking!”
Here’s a little more, from her 2007 book, “The Road to Blue Ribbon Baking: With Marjorie”:
“She cracks up Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” and Rosie O Donnell on “The View” – and now Marjorie Johnson has filled her cookbook with one hundred prize-winning recipes that will delight your taste for home-made favorites and keep you laughing while you’re waiting for the timer to go off. With over a thousand blue ribbons to her credit, Marjorie has learned a thing or two about baking, and she has packed The Road to Blue Ribbon Baking with secrets that can make you a prizewinning baker, too!”
