Integrating Commercial Tobacco Treatment within Behavioral Health Care

Join us in a 45-minute Public Health Law Center webinar that explores options for improving health and reducing healthcare costs by integrating tobacco and nicotine dependence treatment into behavioral health care for underserved populations.

Our webinar features two experts in this field. Our first speaker, Reba Mathern-Jacobson, Senior Manager of Advocacy at the American Lung Association in Minnesota and North Dakota and coordinator of the Lung Mind Alliance, has over 20 years of experience living and working within behavioral health settings and developing programs and policies for underserved populations. Our second speaker, Dr. Kavita Prasad, is a board-certified physician in general internal medicine, trained at the University of London and Mayo Clinic, and Medical Director of Integrative Medicine for Zumbro Valley Health Center.

The speakers will explain the importance of treating commercial tobacco use in people with mental illness and substance use disorders and will describe a holistic approach to integrating tobacco treatment in behavioral health facilities. The webinar will be moderated by Public Health Law Center Senior Staff Attorney Kelly McAnnany.
