New ER Behavioral Health Unit Opens

Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center is proud to give you a virtual tour of our new Emergency Department’s Behavioral Health Unit. This year-long expansion project more than tripled the size of the unit from 1,500 square feet to 7,000 square feet, increasing the capacity from 6 to 24 patients. In this specialized, therapeutic environment patients can receive the mental health and behavioral health support they need. The investment in emergency behavioral health care helps meet the growing patient demand for support and services that foster compassion and healing when they face difficulty in their lives.
