The field of psychology is experiencing something of a renaissance, with three new(er) movements emerging and building on one another (with the help of new brain science). Those three domains are the experiential branch to therapy, the integration of spiritual wisdom and practice into therapy, and the multicultural movement. While multicultural awareness is promoted in graduate school, typical graduate training does not include almost any mention of the explosion of experiential therapies, and their link to what we are learning about the brain, nor to the recent interest in incorporating spiritual practice and philosophy into the work. This video therefore is aimed at helping us (particular new therapists) become oriented as to the current conversation, and how these three branches are influencing one another.
