  1. That's always been my problem since I was a little guy Amanda. I always thought thinking about myself was selfish. Thank you very much and have a wonderful Sunday. And thank you psych2go

  2. Self affirmation through “my perspective” is a struggle for me, even I said things like “I am worth it, I did great!” out loud, my inner thoughts are still “No you are lying! You know you re not worth it, stop BS-ing”

I tried a “friend mentality” instead, “Dear you are worth it, you actually have done quite a great job” , this kinda works better for me to override the negative thoughts.

  3. We are all selfish. And thats ok. Do what you think is right. But to be honest… self-affirmations?… what a load of bul***t.😅
(It can prove to be counter-intuitive to say to yourself that you love yourself only because you really dont.)

  4. another key factor is making both your mental and physical survival align such that they can maintain each-other, for example: someone who works in physical labor can be on a hobby sports team of some kind on the side, or someone who does a lot of brain-work could be super into puzzles, finding a way to bring self-improvement and self-care into alignment in some way helps a ton!

  5. i take a few deep breaths, thinking and imaging "I'm kind, beautiful, smart, funny, talented, friendly, and enough", thinking about 1 of them in each breath. Works. Completely yeets stress.

  6. Here look it’s great advice, but I find nothing to celebrate myself about so ima continue to call myself a dumb*** until I find something and listen to actually good advice.

  7. Sometimes I get over stressed and start to overwhelm my brain, which normally ends up giving my stomach a weird feeling or even hurting it sometimes. Most people that I know tell me that deep breathing is useless, but I use the method so often and it really helps me and calms me down. I advise using it! Also, if you’re reading this, I hope you have a great week. Don’t forget to take care of yourself! ♥️

  8. Love this video, i think the advice my mom gave me is to not overthink too much because it’s not good for your mind and self-esteem I had my mom telling me every morning when i about to go to school that i’m important Kinda Melt My Heart but it kinda weird me out at the same time because i had never been gave a compliment from my mom before. Still love her tho ❤
