Mental health care provider fined £650k over patient death
The father of a man who died while in the care of the Priory healthcare group has described it as a ‘calculating, cruel and fundamentally dangerous company’.
Richard Caseby made the comments in court earlier today, where the Priory was fined 650-thousand pounds for criminal safety failings that lead to the death of his son Matthew in 2020 – three days after he was admitted to a Priory mental health unit.

We must also be aware that there is record low public investment in mental health care in the UK. Considering the high cost of living, stagnating wages, increased cases of homelessness, and poor funding in public services; there has been a massive increase of people requiring mental crisis support
Pattern of failures, i dont accept these standards anymore ! I have been left to die with no real mental health support. So sad this child had to lose his life for people to take notice. Money means nothing vs a life
That’s his fault and no one else’s. Why is one person EVER liable for what another does to himself?? I don’t care if he was in a hospital, that makes no difference. He “escaped”, jumped a fence and put HIMSELF IN FRONT OF A TRAIN. That’s no one’s fault but his, regardless of mental illness. Get a grip people. Stop blaming everyone else for what you do.
Private healthcare conpaneis are a stain on society. Money spent within ghe treatment of mental health should not be siphoned into dividends for shareholders and CEO bonuses.
The Priory is the WORST MENTAL HEALTH company EVER. Staff don’t give a 💩 they are the worst for mental, physical, verbal abuse. It’s ABSOLUTELY APPALLING, DISGUSTING AND DAMN RIGHT OUTRAGEOUS how Mental Health patients are treated.

You cant call it "health care" when there is no health and no care. Its just billing and stealing money.
Sadly,this has being going on for years.Mental health places just let patients run off.
A few times I've had patients who've ran out of hospitals,come unto my place of work.weve had to call the police to collect/find out where they've cone from

Mental illness is like cancer, serious, life threatening, poorly understood, except no one blames the service when someone dies.
having suffered mental health problems. Being in hospital for 3 months for operation after suicide attempt. No help. Get over it. I managed to bring up my son single handed. He has a regular job . His own house, drives and 3 kids of his own. The real problem with nearly all mental health problems is people making money out of it. Get a backbone.
Turn to GOD and you probably find peace, this world is not meant forever. Real Muslims believers (not fake Muslims) always rely on ALLAH ALMIGHTY GOD, knowing that it is a test and in the end you will be rewarded in the afterlife, increasing your rank in heaven (Jannah).

Im so sorry……my son also escaped twice from a psychiatric hospital. Absolutely terrifying. I still have my very ill son ( schizoaffective dosorder) but little or no help from NHS services beyond a prescription for medication. It has destroyed my family. Im so, so sorry you lost your child.
