The Design, Delivery, and Testing of Child Mental Health Services

Judith Joseph, MD, MBA, child and adolescent psychiatry fellow at the Child Study Center at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City, interviews Mary McKay, PhD, director of the NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research-NYU Silver School of Social Work in New York City, about her Grand Rounds lecture on the Design, Deliver and Testing of Child Mental Health Services for Urban Youth and Families.

Dr. McKay talked about multiple family groups, consisting of at least 2 generations of 6 to 8 families, as an important new treatment model for kids with conduct disorders. The families provide a built-in community and support structure for each other that greatly improves treatment outcomes for kids.
