Oregon lawmakers approve bill to expand opportunities for involuntary psychiatric care
The bill should eventually ease the way for civil commitments, the now vanishingly rare method for getting someone into secure psychiatric care. That will come partly through lowering the state’s high standards, but also through community mental health facilities.
