Kansas City, state leaders ink agreement for new mental health facility

Kansas City will host a new state mental health facility to help reduce the capacity strain on county jails and provide services to people who need long-term mental health support. Leaders with the State of Missouri, City of Kansas City, and University Health reached an agreement Wednesday to build a 300,000-square-foot state mental health facility in Belvidere Park, 1408 Independence Avenue.
