Mental Health and Counselling | Wellbeing & Inclusion | Edinburgh Napier University

I’m Lynn Hi. I’m a mental health adviser with the well-being team at Napier. We support students with their mental health and well-being and maybe any challenging circumstances that they have in their lives or academic pressures, various diagnosis, that kind of thing. We various different forms of support. We predominantly support students on a one-to-one basis. So that would mean we offer cognitive behavioral therapy. We offer more counseling support. But we also offer more flexible forms of support which is mental health advice sessions. So we would offer them in person but we’d al also offer these sessions online. And then we also do online workshops as well to manage stress, procrastination, sleep, self-esteem. We run them online and we do some of them in person as well. We also offer mindfulness sessions and yeah generally as much as we can do the online psycho educational side of things as well. Initially the student would get in touch with us. They can either um get in touch through the counseling email address or they can go on my Napier website and find us there on the well-being pages. And then once they register with us, they will be sent an appointment to come and see us and have a chat about what’s been going on for them and what they might like to gain from support. And then we’d hopefully get them started with sessions pretty quickly. Don’t let yourself struggle alone because I think when students are isolated, that’s when they really feel vulnerable. So really reaching out you can get a chance to fulfill your full potential when you get support but also to make the most of your university experience as well. Either counseling at napier.ac.uk UK email address or fill in the online registration form on the wellbeing pages on my Napier.
