That story is a part of our democracy. 2025 coverage, plus, Clint. Today’s groundbreaking ceremony for the Horizon Behavioral Health Center took place today in Clovis. The center will offer services like crisis intervention and residential care, reducing the need for long distance travel for treatment. The project is a collaboration effort among Union CA, Curry and Roosevelt counties. The center will feature 12 inpatient beds and 1023 state stations, offering patients a safe place to receive care for up to 24 hours. Local leaders say this facility will help keep mental health treatments close to home, reducing the need for families to travel long distance. Long distances for care. Currently, there’s only one public facility in the state of New Mexico that’s in Las Vegas, and it’s constantly at capacity. You have to be in really bad shape to get into that facility. There’s some private facilities in the state, but depending on what your insurance, you know, what your pay mix looks like. The facility will also support local law enforcement by offering an alternative to detention for individuals in crisis. The Horizon Behavioral Health Center is expected to open in 12 months.
