Healthy Habits For Good Mental Health | 10 Evidence-Based Daily Habits And Routines For Kids & Teens

Hi friends! Do you want to feel happy, healthy,
confident, and strong? Today, we’re going to talk about 10 healthy habits
that can help you have good mental health. Research shows that many of the same habits
that help your physical health can also help your mental health. By taking care of your body,
you can also take care of your mind. These habits can make you feel better, think clearer, and
even help you deal with tough situations. The following are 10 healthy habits that can give
a boost to both your physical and mental health: 1) Regular Physical Activity. Moving your body
is super important. Whether it’s playing sports, organizing your room, dancing, or just running
around with friends, being active helps your brain feel good. It can make you happier,
less stressed, and help you think better. 2) Good Sleep. Getting enough sleep is
like supercharging your brain. It helps you focus better, feel happier, and grow
taller. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. Studies have found
that kids who get enough quality sleep can better manage their emotions, and are less
likely to experience mental health issues. 3) Healthy Eating. Eating good foods is like
putting the right fuel in your body’s engine. Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains give your
brain the energy it needs to work well. They also help keep your body strong as you grow up.
A balanced diet rich in nutrients can improve how well your brain works and reduce your
chances of having mental health problems. 4) Proper Hydration. Drinking enough water
is very important. It helps your brain work better and can even improve your mood.
Try to drink water throughout the day, especially when it’s hot or you’re
being active. Studies show that even mild dehydration can negatively affect mood,
energy levels, and how well you think and learn. 5) Belly Breathing. This is a cool trick to
help you calm down when you’re feeling stressed or upset. Put your hand on your belly and take
slow, deep breaths. Feel your belly rise and fall. Research shows that belly breathing
can significantly reduce stress and anxiety. 6) Sharing Feelings In Healthy Ways.
It’s okay to have big emotions, but learning how to share them in a good way can
help you feel better. You can talk to a friend, parent, or teacher about how you’re feeling.
Studies indicate that children who express their emotions in healthy ways have better social
relationships and can better manage stress. 7) Making And Keeping Friends. Having good
friends, and being a good friend to others is awesome for your mental health. Friends can
make you laugh, support you when you’re sad, and help you learn new things. Research
finds that getting along well with other kids helps you have better mental health
and social skills when you get older. 8) Creative Expression. Using your imagination
to create things is a great way to express your feelings. You could draw, paint,
write stories, build things, make music, or dance. Studies have found that engaging
in creative activities can reduce stress, increase positive emotions, and
improve overall well-being in kids. 9) Positive Thinking. The way you think can
change how you feel. Try to focus on good things, even when times are tough. You could
think about what you’re grateful for, or tell yourself “I can do this!” when something
is hard. Kids who develop positive thinking skills can more easily overcome challenges, have higher
self-esteem, and feel happier about their life. 10) Daily Routines. Having a regular
schedule can make you feel safe and calm. This includes good hygiene routines
like brushing your teeth and taking a bath, as well as having set times for homework and
play. It also means finding a good balance between screen time and other activities. Studies suggest
that maintaining regular schedules, practicing good hygiene, and balancing screen time with other
activities can contribute to higher self-esteem. These 10 habits aren’t just good for your mental
health – they can also help you live a longer, healthier life! When you take care of
your body and mind from a young age, you’re setting yourself up for a great future. It’s okay if you don’t do all of these things
perfectly every day. The important thing is to try your best and keep practicing. Over time,
these habits will become easier and more natural. If you’re having trouble with any of these
habits, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Parents, teachers, and other trusted
adults can give you tips and support. Remember, taking care of your mental health
is just as important as taking care of your physical health. By practicing these healthy
habits, you’re giving yourself the tools to handle life’s ups and downs, feel good about
yourself, and enjoy your days to the fullest. If you found this video helpful,
