Secure Attachment: Prevent Mental Health Issues in Children #shorts
A lot of the mental health disorders that people have today can be prevented with developing a secure attachment in childhood specifically between I would say the ages of especially 0 to 1 0 to2 you have to get that right which is huge in your field. Yeah. Yeah. And and it’s so preventable and so parents are okay. So people are probably thinking wondering okay what what do you mean by secure attachment? So so I guess let’s define it first right. So secure attachment is when a child trusts and believes that if something bad were to happen to them or if something bad could happen to them, they will be okay. They will be fine. They will be safe. A child needs to have an internalized representation of their parents being there for them when uh possible catastrophe hits. So it’s not about making sure that bad things don’t happen to your kids. It’s about making sure that even if something anxietyprovoking might happen to your child that they will be confident enough in dealing with that anyway.
Can secure attachments in early childhood prevent mental health disorders? A child’s trust that they’ll be safe is key. It’s not about preventing bad things, but ensuring kids are confident to deal with them. #mentalhealth #parenting #childdevelopment #attachmenttheory
