This is your reminder to TAKE A BREAK… your MENTAL HEALTH matters! #mentalhealth #shorts

– Know all the signs and symptoms, right? This is why I always say
therapists, we know better, but we don’t always do better. I’m not sleeping great.
I’ve been super tearful. I’ve been irritable in general, and I feel like my hunger
fullness is a little bit off. And I always tell you guys like, “Hey, pay attention to these things, “and here’s the things you should do,” and I think it’s time
that I take my own advice.

I need a mental health break from burnout and feeling overwhelmed with everything. MY BOOKS (in stores now)

  1. I don’t think I’ve ever met a female therapist that had her shit together. They seem like they’re on an unending search for some clue as to the “why” of their F’d up existence🤔
I’m sure there’s a psychobabble paper in there somewhere waiting to get published.
    Cheers

  2. I really hope you feel better soon, it's great you're giving yourself some time; you give so much to the world, you deserve to rest and feel better that this. <3

  3. Yes! A therapist should take their own advice. We should thank our therapist I agree on this , However I don’t think that a therapist should feel the need to get personal with the people they are helping during therapy sessions. That’s just not necessary..

  4. I feel exactly the same only depression is at a all time high for me I keep feeling unloved and I've relapsed and am back to my addiction I've trying to fight it but I'm not sure if these negative thoughts will comeback my addiction is like putting a bandaid on a deep cut and I have to keep replacing the bandaid

  5. I was just thinking about you and your channel yesterday. I thought "I wish all therapists were like Kati (and government funded)". Seriously, I can't afford therapy here anymore, and I live in Ontario Canada which has been stripped of health care coverage and now it's groups only. I can't do groups, so I watch your videos and sit with it, write relevant things down, and try to implement your suggestions into my daily life. That is HUGE for my ADHD brain, btw! I am so thankful for all you do. The fact that you are so prolific with your YT channel content and make time for in person patients is amazing! I tell people to look you up all the time, that they will certainly find something relevant no matter how obscure their mental health symptoms may be. What I'm trying to say here is, YOU ARE ROCKIN IT!!! Take care of yourself. We all want that for you. You've already done so much for so many people, and with these videos available, continue to help. You could take a good long break from your work (delegate, baby!) and everyone would be fine. I know it's not that simple, but front line mental health support workers have so much burn out which all too often leads to having to retire completely and/or ending up with a long road to recovery themselves. I'm on the front lines as a harm reduction outreach worker at a local low barrier shelter caring for unhoused folks with mental health issues and more often than not, substance use disorder. I gotta say, I feel this so hard! These 19 secs brought me to tears. Don't feel shame for not taking your own advice all the time. Damn, grrl you're only human!! You are so loved and appreciated – THANK YOU x

  6. Please look into mold illness and investigate your environment for potential water damage/leaky pipes. You can get an air or dust test to check for a mold count and to identify which strains are present. It can help to verify if it is a contributing factor to your symptoms. Taking a break is great and necessary, but sometimes that alone isn't enough. I hope you find the cause and feel better soon! 💛

  7. I always thank my therapist at the end of every session and give her a hug for always being so supportive and understanding with me even though I know she’s a human too and that she has her own problems too. ❤

  8. I just did an assignment in my CMHC course about counselor impairment and self-care (including creating a preventative self-care plan).

Kudos for recognizing the need to take a break. Your videos have helped me through a lot, and you've inspired me to help others. And this video is one more way you are a role model to me and to many others.

Thank you for being you. ❤
