Are You Carrying Trauma That Isn’t Yours? Understanding Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS)
Many people who work in caregiving, advocacy, emergency response, or even consume too much traumatic media can develop secondary traumatic stress, absorbing the pain of others until it affects their own health. In this video, Tim Fletcher explains what secondary PTSD is, how it connects to complex trauma, and the physical, emotional, and relational signs to watch for. He also outlines practical tools like boundaries, self-care, and emotional awareness that protect against burnout and long-term harm.

This sounds exactly like what a lot of parents of chronically ill children deal with, beyond their own PTSD.
The saddest thing, is parents train and brainwash their kids to be doormats. And that for the majority of one's life, literally no one teaches a person boundaries, what they are, how to implement them, and why we need them.
Dang man…..my comment was deleted……. honestly, that is not cool…..
