How to cope with anxiety | Olivia Remes | TEDxUHasselt
Anxiety is one of most prevalent mental health disorders, with 1 out of 14 people around the world being likely affected. Leading up to conditions such as depression, increased risk for suicide, disability and requirement of high health services, very few people who often need treatment actually receive it. In her talk “How to cope with anxiety”, Olivia Remes of the University of Cambridge will share her vision on anxiety and will unravel ways to treat and manage this health disorder. Arguing that treatments such as psychotherapy and medication exist and often result in poor outcome and high rates of relapses, she will emphasise the importance of harnessing strength in ourselves as we modify our problem-coping mechanisms. Olivia will stress that by allowing ourselves to believe that what happens in life is comprehensive, meaningful, and manageable, one can significantly improve their risk of developing anxiety disorders.

We can pray for our children that they get what they need ❤️ u r welcome in the Catholic church. We should probably be praying to escape the things that are to come every day. Google the rosary and the promises associated with it
I think the most effective way to get out of yourself or even anxiety won't even come closer to you is that you help others and do good deeds honestly that will make you so much happy and credible personality and people will love you and also the tongue the sweeter tongue you have the more you get away from anxiety
Fantastic presentation of anxiety! Being so young with such a Self Awareness is great 🎉

Ive hate gad for 15 years now so watch a lot of ted talks this was probably the worst one most share their own experience this women you can tell is just relaying what shes read in a text book even listen to how ahe describes what her friend said people dont talk like that i just hate when people jump on topics when they have no clue how it feels
If you're reading this right now, I just want to say; I'm rooting for you. We’re strangers, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care. I know what it’s like to feel like you're pushing a boulder uphill. I felt that way until I picked up Manifest and Receive by Eva Hartley. I can’t explain it perfectly, but it changed my whole perspective. Since then, things have been flowing—money, peace, confidence. Maybe this is your moment too. Stay open. Wishing you more than you ever imagined. 💫💰
3 months ago I was broke, anxious, and completely lost. My friend sent me Manifest and Receive by Eva Hartley and I read it in one sitting. Not even kidding, my whole energy shifted. I stopped chasing and started receiving. New clients, better sleep, confidence back. people don’t sleep on this. 😭✨
A few weeks ago, I was chatting with a friend about how manifesting never seemed to work for me. I’d tried so many methods but still felt stuck. We heard about a book called Manifest and Receive by Eva Hartley on a podcast, and I was hesitant at first. But after reading just a few chapters, I realized how much I was missing. Eva's approach is so different from anything I’ve ever tried. It’s not just about thinking positive, it’s about aligning with real-world actions that bring your desires into reality. Now, I’ve manifested opportunities I never imagined possible, and my mindset has shifted completely. If you’re frustrated like I was, don’t hesitate. Read this book. It will change everything ❤
Honestly, it breaks my heart how Manifest and Receive by Eva Hartley isn’t getting the attention it deserves. This book changed me. People need to wake up to this.
Wonderful very polite❤
Anxiety is not an enemy or a demon, it is like an overprotective friend who wants to protect you because he saw you get hurt.
Don't be too hard on him, prove to him that you are strong enough to handle everything and protect yourself, and he will leave.
Sometimes you try hard to do something, but in the end you still fail. I hope you know that it's okay.♥☺
I’ve tried many herbal teas, but nothing comes close to the comfort I get from Planet Ayurveda’s Calm Easy Tea.
Wonderful Talk!!It transformed my personal and professional life ❤❤❤
Let's be honest, she isn't a very captivating speaker
That was very boring and monotonous.
I commend her though, because public speaking is not easy.
I know you are doing well 🎉
Anything worth doing is worth doing badly the first time. “任何值得做的事,第一次做砸了也值得。”
The wise ones, when granted a blessing, would grow anxious, wondering, "What trouble might follow this gift?"
And when faced with a hardship, they would feel a quiet joy inside, thinking, "What reward is hidden behind this trial?"
For those who know this truth, their lives are not dictated by circumstances.
No matter what the weather is like outside, their inner climate remains steady.
Their hopes are not hanging by a thread, ready to snap at the slightest tension;
nor is their faith something loosely worn, collapsing at the first tremor.
You won’t reach it just by walking—
yet only those who walk ever arrive.
You won’t find it just by seeking—
yet only those who seek ever discover.
Put your trust in God. God alone is sufficient as a protector and guardian."
I just got through a panic attack, and I feel so bad for my wife. I love her so much , but am constantly looking over my shoulders thinking they are all going to leave me, hate me, or whatever involves me. I went on a Carnival Cruise for 3 days, and could barely deal with the people surrounding me.
I basically hate myself for the way I act, so I stay in my room so no one gets hurt by my actions.
Thank you for this wonderful talk ❤
I’m currently dealing with anxiety at 34. It came out of nowhere and I didn’t think it could happen to me. The constant feeling of your stomach dropping, shortness of breath and pain in different body parts – there’s nothing I hate more. I got to a point where I can no longer cope and I just want to not exist. But watching this video and reading comments from other people make me feel like I’m not alone and it’s somehow comforting. I guess what I’m trying to say is dealing with anxiety is hard but if you acknowledge it and want to make a change, there is a way out of it.
My Learnings:
1. Control your senses and do your duties & Don't Seek Perfection
2. Forgive yourself everything, you are not always the enemy, Just Chill.
3. Have a vision and if someone not care about make sure you care someone.
Victor frankel: “for people who thinks there is nothing to live for and nothing more to expect from life, the question is getting these people to realize that life is still expecting something from them”.
Look just build yourself stronger enough to battle anything that comes in your life weather it’s anxiety or whatever it is just be strong enough to manage every problem just broke the shackles of fear and just go where you feel anxious
Her voice is so smoothing
🎉
Guys, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND the book "Beyond Anxiety – Martha Beck". It is a MUST. She was also on a Diary of a CEO podcast!
