How loss relates to intrusive thoughts and recovery
Our brains are just trying to think of ways to protect things we don’t want to lose. Even though we may see ourselves as struggling with intrusive thoughts and mental compulsions around them, it can be useful to look at the goals we’re pursuing and what we’re afraid of losing. Then we can see that our brains aren’t doing anything wrong. They’re just throwing possible disasters that could cause us to lose things we don’t want to lose.
