Part1:What is Morita Therapy?- Morita therapy & its treatment
The theme of the Mental Health & Morita Therapy Seminar Vol.2 is “Morita therapy & its treatment. ”The lecturer is Dr. Kei Nakamura (Honorary Director, Center for Morita Therapy, The Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo).
The content of the first session is” What is Morita Therapy?.”
Morita Therapy is a form of psychotherapy founded by Japanese psychiatrist Shoma Morita. This seminar first introduces Morita’s brief biography and explains the target conditions of this therapy. In recent years, its applications have expanded to include depression and psychosomatic disorders. Morita identified a common personality trait underlying various symptoms, known as the ‘Shinkeishitsu trait,’ and we will explore its characteristics and the psychological process called the ‘Mechanism of Toraware’ using the example of erythrophobia. Finally, we will discuss ‘Arugamama’ (Shizen fukujyu, or obedience to nature), the core attitude for freeing oneself from this mechanism.
