Weird ADHD behavior that makes sense!
I used to think my husband interrupting meant he wasn’t listening.
But during one of our relationship coaching sessions, I learned something that completely changed my perspective.
For people with ADHD, interrupting isn’t about control or disrespect.
It’s their brain racing against time afraid that the thought will disappear before they can say it.
Now, instead of getting frustrated, I pause and remember:
He’s not cutting me off.
He’s trying not to lose something important.
Understanding this small difference created a huge shift in how we communicate.
Neurodivergent relationships require patience, awareness, and grace — but the connection that comes from that understanding is next level.

I do this all the time with my wife. She doesn't like it. I've been working on not holding so tight to the importance of any given thought so as to let them go without worries that they might not come back. Sometimes they do.
Omg do I need to go get tested because I have to get in out in that second or it's gone. I won't remember it.
I learned to take notes on my thoughts while others talk. ADHD makes this super easy. It made life so much better and my communication game improved 1000%.
