I have been on the verge of suicide in the Netherlands and doctors really do not care!
They expect someone who is mentally unwell and in a state of mania to be able to:
Contact their insurance to see if a psychiatrist is covered
Contact the gp for a referral
Contact the professional (only to find out they don’t have a contract with your gp)
REPEAT!
And every time you try it makes your mental health worse! They really just want you to kill your self before they have to spend money on you
Mental health care is very bad regulated in the NL, espacially for young people who sometimes have to wait 2 years before talking to psychiatrist
