Western NC behavioral health hospital addresses region’s growing mental health needs
Appalachian Regional Healthcare System is the first in the country to have a campus with more behavioral health beds than acute care beds.
The system launched a behavioral health hospital on the campus of Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville where they converted over 20 acute care beds into behavioral health beds to address the mountainous region’s growing mental health needs.
