Great job as always, Dr. Scher! Thanks for your dedication and willingness to help everyone who is interested in this lifestyle.
Ketosis makes me hypomanic. what should i do? Push through it or just go binge on carbs?
I am now choosing the classic ketogenic therapy dieet, nutritional. But I stay unsure if Atkins or a more liberal diet with MCT isnt possible with the same results. If its not necessary , I would like to also eat some other foods. The classic approach seems more safe to get the wanted effects for me at the moment.
Thanks for the black box warning about keto; I had no idea it could trigger manic episodes…! 🙏
Please consider a MM episode about inability to sleep, often called insomnia. 🙏 😴 🙏 🛌 🙏 💤 🙏
Can you make an episode on vegan keto, please?
Hi. Im using keto chow electrolyte drops. But I’m not shure how much i should take? I weigh 90kg.
Is there a reason why I have trouble getting my keystones above a 0.2 other than two many carbs.?
If you are treating cancer, I think you want your ketones above 2.5, or pretty much as high as you can get. So you may want to add some fasting into the mix. Similar for treating epilepsy, you typically want over 3.0 mmol/L
My husband and I have been doing carnivore 100% compliant for 4 months. Neither of us have had any symptoms released, especially hard for my husband who's in depression phase of bipolar. We're thinking we should hire a medical keto coach or doctor as we can't find any proper data on proportions for medical keto. We feel we could do it on our own because we're both always in ketosis, but until we know proportions of fat, carbs, protein we're afraid to leap towards medical-keto. Is there a PDF explaining proportions? Is there a link of all the trained professionals who use medical keto in their practice? Thanks for any input!
A request for Future video: actual pictures and videos of meals that might suit clinical ketogenic therapy.
Many many resources out there show examples of ketogenic meals for the purpose of weight loss and general well-being. Those might not be fatty enough for mental health purposes. So real meals that can be suitable for the goals this channel deals with so we can understand how all this fat eating looks ( of course just examples as everything needs to be individualized)
Do we need to follow the 4:1 , which is actually 9:1 in weight, epileptic version off the keto diet, also for mental health?
Is there a video that will tell me what the heck to eat.. like some practical advice?
Thank you for making these resources available. I just googled side effects of keto diet and up came your video, and I realised why I have been feeling terrible. Reaching for more water and electrolytes . 😊
How long befone one might notice improvements in the case of autonomic dysfunction / anxiety?
Ive been eating 10% carbs for 8 weeks. My glucose range is now 85 to 115. Using Stelos CGM.
Two months ago my range was 105 to 140.
I've been curious about the ketogenic diet and its effects on mental health. This video is just what I needed to get started!
Great video! Thanks!
I'm down to less than 20 carbs a day including the carbs on meat and cheese. I've cut my protein, upped fats from butter and MCT, but glucose is always over 90 and ketones rarely over 0.8- 1.2. Is this because of thyroid medication? A couple cups of coffee a day?
These videos are great but the Metabolic mind site doesn’t have a list of providers!
Stop saying talk to your provider since there are none otherwise you would list them
