  1. It doesnt mean they should be excluded, they should have use of the phone properly, also bullying does happen, and a phone can save alot of akward situations, 9 is young but when they go school thry should have a phone regardless. Its the way the world operates and saying well you dont get one cause dont copy the rest well then you parent should set the example and do the same.

  2. My 7 year old niece has a smart phone already 😢 she was telling me the other day about some videos she had been watching on it that had very dark and scary themes. Children that young should not have a phone with internet. If its for their safety ok let them have a phone to make calls/texts, but its counter productive to give them a phone for their safety and then allow them to have access to the internet with all the disturbing/graphic content and predators.

  3. Kids having phones today is similar to when we first gained access to computers at home. The difference is that technology has become more advanced, more portable, and fully integrated into daily life. For today’s generation, technology isn’t just a tool — it’s the foundation of their world

  4. How about giving phone for safety reasons and teaching child what is alright to do there and not. That would be education.
Why would you isolate your child from everyone. Just pushing your own insecurities to your child. Severe control.

  5. ur kid will actually be left out though and definitely won't be "connected", as she says, to other kids. this line of thinking makes sense w/ kids from her generation, and it makes sense when it comes to a lot of other things. but a lot of socialization between kids unironically happens online now. unless there are other kids who also don't have phones there's no guarantee he'll be included. not even bc the kids are malicious or what not but if 5 other people are convenient to communicate with but ur kid isn't, who are they most likely to choose?
