  1. as an evolutionary biologist, the greatest misuse of 'homeostasis' I've ever heard was by my therapist. I love him, but yea, homeostasis is not an achievement you unlock and then live there, no, your body is CONSTANTLY changing and adjusting to maintain a window that is survivable and hopefully allows successful reproduction. I know, semantics, but It takes CONSTANT adjustment, which may be an even more appropriate analogy for those of us with chronic ailments like OCD. I will never unlock an OCD free life, I will constantly monitor and adjust and hopefully remain within a window of functionality. hang in there Dr Ali, we're rootin for ya!

  2. Similar to our body, our mental will also find homeostasis – the compensation, the balance..any state of mental is actually balanced already by nature. It's the harsh judgement of the majority that call it as an issue
