SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – We’re still trying to wrap our heads around that unfortunate tragedy of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.

Police believe he died from was a self-inflicted gunshot wound not long after he was involved in a police pursuit.

There’s still a lot we don’t know, but we wanted to take a moment to get perspective from a mentor in our community who’s also a former athlete.

Notre Dame women’s basketball assistant coach Carlos Knox joined us on WNDU 16 News Now at 4 to tell us more about how he guides his players on and off the court when they are encountering adversity.

He also told us more about his podcast, “A Star Struck,” which is devoted to his passion of mentoring.

You can watch his full conversation with Joshua Short in the video above.
