
ROME- Local police assisted a person who suffered this week from a mental health crisis.
It was sometime around 9:15 p.m. Thursday when the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a person enduring a mental health crisis.
Police found a vehicle parked at the end of Muck Road, where the individual had fled into the woods.
Authorities executed a search of the area and successfully located the person, who was taken into custody under New York’s Mental Health Law.
The individual was subsequently taken to an area facility for evaluation. The person’s name will not be released due to the nature of the incident.
Members from Rome Police, Rome Fire Department and New York State Forest Rangers assisted.
