The Brush Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Oct. 20 to welcome Great Plains Mental Health Partners Inc. as a new member. The clinic provides medication management for psychiatric diagnoses and serves patients from pediatrics through geriatrics.

The practice was founded by Bryan Eckhard, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, a Navy veteran who began his medical training as a Corpsman during the Gulf War. He later earned advanced degrees in Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health. His experience in family practice highlighted the need for more specialized mental health care, leading to the creation of Great Plains Mental Health Partners. The clinic accepts a wide range of insurance plans, making services accessible to families across Northeastern Colorado.

The leadership team includes Elizabeth Kirt, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, has the ability to reach patients in remote areas through telehealth, and Amanda Hrycaj, FNP-C, AGACNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, a triple-board-certified nurse practitioner with experience in long-term care, corrections, inpatient care, emergency services, public health, and primary care. Both bring a commitment to serving rural communities and addressing gaps in mental health services.

Great Plains Mental Health Partners treats a broad range of conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, postpartum depression, PTSD, schizophrenia, and addictions. Sessions last about two hours, with patients monitored throughout for safety. The program has already shown positive results for individuals who have struggled with traditional medications.

Transportation partnerships with County Express and Med Ride have been essential in helping patients attend appointments, particularly those traveling from Logan, Washington, and Weld counties. These services make it possible for patients to access care consistently, even when frequent sessions are required.

Since opening earlier this year, the clinic has expanded from two afternoons a week to four days with multiple sessions each day. Referrals from local therapists and health networks have grown. Great Plains Mental Health Partners provides specialized services that are accessible and reduce barriers for patients across the region.
