RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Legal and Finance was at Rapid City Hall today to approve the budget for local groups to help address the mental health crisis in the community.
These programs help someone you know who is going through a rough time to get the help they need from an expert besides the police.
The committee approved and signed the local groups to provide joint support to those in Rapid City in need of these privileges.
These groups that are involved include Volunteers of America, Journey On, and Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board.
Legal and Finance approved the 2026 budgeted amount of $75,000 from the Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board, $360,000 from Journey On, and $75,000 from the Volunteers of America.
