Broadway’s upcoming Every Brilliant Thing has partnered with mental health tech non-profit Project Healthy Minds on an initiative that will bring mental health support resources to audience members throughout the run. The partnership has been established to ensure the Duncan Macmillan-Jonny Donahoe play, which concerns suicide and suicidal ideation, is presented as responsibly as possible.

The initiative will see the creation of a custom marketplace giving theatregoers a place to find mental health services, including therapists, psychiatrists, meditation, support groups, crisis lines, and more. The partnership will also include audience activations and curated in-theatre events during the play’s run, aimed at promoting holistic wellbeing.

“Project Healthy Minds is proud to partner with Every Brilliant Thing starring Daniel Radcliffe,” says Project Healthy Minds Founder and CEO Phillip Schermer in a statement. “Broadway has a rich history of using the power of the stage to shine a spotlight on some of the most important issues of our time. The theatre has long been a space where creativity, emotion, and community intersect, and this production powerfully reminds us that conversations around mental health can be honest, hopeful, and even inspiring. Together, we’re making sure everyone knows they’re not alone, and that help is within reach.”

Performances for the Broadway bow, starring Tony winner Radcliffe (Merrily We Roll Along), begin February 21, 2026, at the Hudson Theatre. March 12 will be opening night, with the 13-week limited engagement continuing through May 24.

Tickets are at EveryBrilliantThingBway.com.

The solo play debuted at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it played three sold-out consecutive summers before coming to Off-Broadway’s Barrow Street Theatre in 2014. The latter run was filmed live and aired on HBO with Donahoe starring. The work returned to Edinburgh Fringe in 2024, where it was a Playbill Pick. The work recently completed a West End debut at @sohoplace, which featured a rotating roster of stars. The Broadway bow looks to be a transfer of the current West End iteration.

In the work, a nameless protagonist faces a distant father, a suicidal mother, and their own inexplicable deep sadness. And in a spark of childhood genius, they counteract these obstacles by chronicling every brilliant thing in the world—first to cheer up their depressed mother, and later for friends, lovers, and themself. Those things include items ranging from simple pleasures (“ice cream,” “the color yellow”) to the far more specific and detailed (“old people who are kind and don’t smell unusual,” “the even numbered Star Trek films”).

“Every Brilliant Thing tackles some serious subject matter, but the overall experience is one of joy and celebration,” said Macmillan in an earlier statement. “Every performance is unique and unpredictable and it requires virtuosic skill from its central performer. When Daniel told us how much he loved the play, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. He has the intelligence, quick-wit and charm to roll with the spontaneous moments that the show invites—he can be a clown one moment, then grab you by the heartstrings the next. He has huge depth and humanity. I can’t wait to get started.”

The creative team includes directors Jeremy Herrin and Macmillan, scenic and costume designer Vicki Mortimer, lighting designer Jack Knowles, and sound designer Tom Gibbons. Casting is by Jessica Ronane, TT Partners is general managing, and Jhanaë K-C Bonnick will serve as production stage manager.

Second Half Productions, Seaview, and Gavin Kalin Productions are producing.
