Selma Blair: MS Diagnosis Changed My Behavior #shorts

When I was first diagnosed with MS, the doctors suggested kindly, you know, do not tell anyone cuz you could get better. So, it got to a point after I found out that I had indeed had it since I was a child and I realized that a lot of the things people thought were so odd about me were in fact MS and other autoimmune things um that really changed my behavior because I was compensating. It was vulnerability was the turning point for me because I was so ky and I was so worried and so nervous about people always thinking I was inebriated which I also drank too much too then when I came out to tell people I couldn’t hide it anymore you know human kindness and that’s what I would wish for anyone to treat anyone that gets any life-changing diagnosis or anything so but it really resonated with so many and people were really just like I was looking for information so many other people are always too. So vulnerability can help so

After Selma Blair’s MS diagnosis, she realized many perceived oddities were actually symptoms. Sharing her vulnerability resonated deeply, fostering human kindness & providing much-needed information to others. #SelmaBlair #MSDiagnosis #Vulnerability #AutoimmuneDisease #HumanKindness

  1. I have a BA in psychology and do crisis counseling. I have raised 2 kids, both with special needs, non verbal, adhd, and behavioral issues. People treat me like I'm so strong and smart until they learn I have autism and suddenly they speak to me as if I'm a moron and everything I say is questionable as if I'm too stupid to know information. People act differently when it comes to disabilities because they're ignorant.

  2. Chrissie Amphlett lead singer of The Divinyls, may she rest in peace, was also accused of being drunk at a point in the early days of her MS diagnosis, until she made it public.
