Renderings and further details have been revealed for the upcoming Austin HOPE Center wellness hub at 5036 West Chicago Avenue in Austin. Located on the corner of North Lawler Avenue, the new center is replacing a large vacant lot and is nearing its topping-out point within the neighborhood’s Soul City Corridor, according to Block Club.

The three-story building is being developed through a partnership among Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, Stone Community Development Corporation, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and other local organizations. It is being designed by the architecture firm Gregory Ramon Design Studio and will include a total of 25,000 square feet of space.

The building fronts directly onto the street, with a 30-vehicle parking lot located in the rear and accessed via the alley. Inside will be spaces for Stone and Lurie, which will offer a range of pediatric clinical services, including behavioral health, respiratory care, autism care, dietary services, and treatment for various other conditions.

Additionally, the local organization Threshold will have space in the building to provide mental health and substance-use care. A small café and administrative offices will also be included. The project carries a $22 million price tag, funded through multiple sources including city bonds. The nearly complete structure is expected to open next summer.
