MANSFIELD – Akron Children’s Mansfield Behavioral Health Center will host a community coat distribution event on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 1027 South Trimble Rd. in Mansfield.
The donor-funded event is open to the public and will provide new coats (sizes 3T to adult XXL), hats and gloves at no cost for children and adults while supplies last.
“We’re hosting a coat distribution event to support our community by providing warm winter essentials to those in need,” said Dr. Selena Magalotti, child and adolescent psychiatrist.
“By inviting the community into our Behavioral Health Center, we also hope to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health care and show that our center is a welcoming, supportive place.”
The coat distribution event is part of the center’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community connections and promote emotional well-being across Richland County.
All are welcome to come to the event, and receiving care at the center is not a requirement to obtain a coat and other winter items.
Staff members hope the event encourages families to view the center as a safe and approachable resource for behavioral health support.
The Akron Children’s Mansfield Behavioral Health Center offers comprehensive mental and behavioral health services for children and teens.
