EUGENE, Ore. — Members of the law enforcement community have one of the most psychologically challenging jobs.

They almost always see people at their very worst – and it takes a toll.

On Thursday, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office took a major step in helping deputies cope with the impact of their jobs.

Here we meet the newest member of the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Corporal Carlton – a happy, fluffy goldendoodle. Corporal was sworn in with much fanfare Thursday and got right to work:
