Northeastern Center offers onsite lab services
KENDALLVILLE — Northeastern Center is now offering onsite lab services at all of its outpatient offices, making it easier for clients to access tests needed as part of their comprehensive behavioral health care.
Partnering with Gravity Diagnostics, Northeastern Center now offers onsite lab collection for tests that help medical providers monitor clients’ overall well-being and make decisions about ongoing treatment. Medical staff can collect blood, urine and nasal swab samples, which are then sent to Gravity Diagnostics’ lab for testing.
This means clients can now get their labs taken care of before they leave the office, rather than needing to visit a separate facility. The new service has resulted in:
• Increased follow-through and compliance rates, especially for clients with transportation barriers who may have difficulty traveling to another location.
• Improved care coordination thanks to timely lab results, usually within 24 hours, which allows for quicker clinical action.
• An improved client experience, as Northeastern Center staff can create a more therapeutic and trauma-informed experience for clients with lab-related anxiety or trauma, including children and survivors of abuse.
“Our goal is to make it easier for clients to complete their labs, and this new service makes it much more timely and convenient,” said Dr. Teresa Greiner, chief medical officer for Northeastern Center. “We’re excited to see how eliminating barriers to care has resulted in several improvements, and we’re hopeful that we’ll continue seeing great results as this service continues.”
