BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Rimrock Foundation opened the doors of a new outpatient treatment facility in Bozeman.

The new outpost will offer a variety of services, including but not limited to day treatment, intensive outpatient programs, addiction services, DUI sentencing services, individual counseling, peer support services, urine drug screening and psychiatric rehabilitation.

“We are open, and so we should be getting our business license today,” said Rimrock CEO Jeff Keller.

Keller, alongside Rimrock’s chief behavioral health officer, Dr. Malcolm Horn, presented to the Gallatin County Mental Health Advisory Board their vision for their operations at the Bozeman location and answered questions.

The foundation, according to its website, is the largest addiction treatment center in the region. The foundation’s flagship location is in Billings, and Keller indicated at the Advisory Board meeting that Missoula could be the home of another future expansion.

During the presentation, several inquiries were made regarding what sets Rimrock apart from other treatment facilities Bozeman has had. The opening of Rimrock comes only four days before the scheduled closing of Cedar Creek, another outpatient treatment facility.

“We’ve been around for 60-plus years, so we know what we’re doing. We know how to do care in the right way; we know how to do it in the legal way and making sure that we’re following all the licensure rules, making sure we’re following evidence-based treatment care. We know what we need to do; we just need to start doing it here,” Horn said.

“I think what this means for the Bozeman community is just that now we can actually provide really integrated, comprehensive care,” Horn said. “We recognize its substance use, particularly drinking, is a huge issue throughout Montana, but particularly we recognize in Gallatin County.”
