What Happened to Harper Zilmer?

Zilmer, who rose to fame as a social media star, singer, and host of the LOL Podcast, which boasts nearly 3 million subscribers, took to TikTok on Oct. 19 to announce a social media hiatus amid a mental health battle.

She first began to open up about her personal struggles in September, after her boyfriend Benson Overstreet admitted to cheating on her.

“I was in bed for 3 days straight,” she said on an episode of the podcast. “I couldn’t eat, or if I ate, I would throw up… and then I just kept finding out more and more things about him and like what he did behind the scenes and stuff. So that’s made me even worse.”

A couple of weeks later, she took to her TikTok to reveal she was “leaving for a little bit.”

“I have been going through a lot recently,” she said. “I’ve struggled with mental health over the past six years, but it’s gotten to the point where I have to go to a place and get help.”

“I’m really nervous to go to this place because I don’t know anybody that’s there,” she continued in the tearful makeup-free clip. “But it’s going to be a few months, and I’ll be back better than ever.”
