I have basically tried EVERY major therapy out there, either as a psychotherapist or as a therapy patient myself, for depression. In this video, I’m going to rank all the major therapies for depression treatment and recovery, from S-tier (the best) to Grade F (the worst). I will be covering everything from CBT, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), to newer, modern (and cooler) psychological therapies like Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, EMDR and more. If you or anyone you know is suffering from depression, BPD, EUPD, bipolar, or you are looking for the best therapy for depression, then this video guide might be helpful to understanding mental health therapy. Great video, so informative – wish I'd known all this years ago! I found EMDR amazing – like someone waved a magic wand over past trauma! Thanks for such a clear up to date guide., 🙏🏼
Another useful CBT tool is behavioural activation. This involves identifying activities you’ve been avoiding, then gradually scheduling and doing helpful activities (for example, going for a walk, going to the gym, or seeing a friend) and noticing how this affects your mood. Our behaviour can affect our state. However, I'm not convinced CBT is the best tool for depression treatment, even though may be some useful tools in it.
