TOPEKA (KSNT) – The merger of two Topeka mental health centers is now official as of Friday.
Signs started going up on Jan. 2 for the new Astra Mental Health Recovery in the Capital City. Family Services and Guidance Center and Valeo announced the merger back in September 2025. A spokeswoman said the merger will help them better meet the needs of their clients, regardless of age.
“Astra Mental Health and Recovery serves individuals of all ages,” said Pam Evan, director of marketing and development. “In the past Family Services and Guidance Center had a specialty in treating youth and families. Valeo on the adult side, but by us combining, it just strengthens the, strengthens system and the supports available for people in the communities.”
Astra Mental Health and Recovery is expected to serve more than 11,000 individuals and families each year with the merger completed.
