NEBRASKA IS OPENING THEIR NEW BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER. THE NEW FACILITY OPENED ITS DOORS FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH A RIBBON CUTTING. OMAHA MAYOR JOHN YOUNG JR AND NEBRASKA GOVERNOR JIM PILLEN WERE BOTH THERE FOR PEOPLE AT CHILDREN’S NEBRASKA. IT’S ABOUT ADDRESSING A LONG SEEN NEED. EVEN BEFORE THE PANDEMIC, THE RATES OF DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY HAVE BEEN AND SUICIDE HAVE BEEN INCREASING OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS AT ALARMING RATES. Children’s Nebraska cut the ribbon to their brand new Behavioral Health and Wellness Center today near 85th & Indian Hills Drive.The facility looks to provide behavioral health treatment to youth in the metro area. Services provided include crisis assessment, partial hospitalization, inpatient and outpatient services, and eating disorders partial hospitalization.Children’s Nebraska’s Vice President of Behavior, Health, & Wellness Renee Rafferty said they’ve observed the need for the facility for years. She went on, saying that even before the pandemic the rates of depression and anxiety, alongside suicide, have been increasing.
