The hits keep coming. The Office of the Legislative Auditor now says Minnesota is failing to properly manage and safeguard behavioral health grants, the Star Tribune reports. The report on health grants comes amid myriad allegations of fraud – some of them leveled by the Trump administration – in Minnesota’s social services programs.
Teachers in the Anoka-Hennepin school district have reached a tentative agreement that would avoid a strike that was to begin Thursday. A district spokesman tells the Star Tribune the deal includes salary increases for teachers and increased contributions for health insurance premiums.
A horse that once served the St. Paul police force has died, according to the Pioneer Press. Jett was thought to be in his 20s and “fought hard his last few weeks with us,” former police officer Jen Mink wrote on a GoFundMe page set up for veterinary bills. Jett was the last of a breed as the police force discontinued its mounted unit in 2019.
