A Pennsylvania-based mental health care provider for children, teens and young adults has expanded into New Jersey.
Blackbird Health announced Jan. 5 it opened a new clinic in Mount Laurel. The location aims to address the rising demand for specialized pediatric mental health support in Burlington County.
Located at 100 Century Parkway, Suite 250, the center provides in-person and virtual care for children, adolescents and young adults.
Services include:
Therapy
Medication management
Treatment for anxiety, depression and behavioral challenges
Specialized assessments for ADHD and autism
“The youth mental health crisis is undeniable, and the data in New Jersey shows that a significant portion of our children are struggling with anxiety and mood disorders,” Dr. Nicole Garber, Blackbird Health‘s chief medical officer, said in a statement.
The clinic cited statistics from the National Alliance on Mental Illness that found:
141,000 adolescents in New Jersey experience a major depressive episode each year
91,000 annually have serious thoughts of suicide
Additionally, according to the state Department of Education:
16% of teens age 13-17 experience mood disorders
34% experience anxiety disorders
Removing the stigma
Garber applauded Burlington County’s “Stigma-Free” initiative, which aims to raise public awareness, provide education and offer resources to individuals and families battling mental health or substance abuse disorders.
“Our goal is to ensure every family in South Jersey can get the expert help they need when they need it most,” Garber added.
In 2024, Blackbird Health raised $17 million in series A funding to expand access to its integrated, technology-backed youth mental health model.
Founded in 2014, the company also operates clinics in Pennsylvania and Virginia, according to its website, which also notes it would open “more locations in New Jersey in 2026 with virtual care available state-wide.”
