Benson
Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Elisha Benson as program director of behavioral health services for Washington and Hancock counties. Benson’s experiences as a therapist and clinical consultant and as a leader in the Maine healthcare system made her an excellent candidate for the position.

Benson
Benson’s role will involve overseeing the development and implementation of mental health and substance use programs in Washington and Hancock counties. Within those three counties, AMHC operates services in Calais, Ellsworth and Machias offering outpatient services, peer support, crisis and coordinated care services, sexual assault advocacy and more.

Benson earned her master of social work from the University of Maine and is now working on getting her master of business administration from Husson University. Prior to working for AMHC, she served as associate vice president of inpatient operations and patient access at Acadia Hospital. She also recently provided therapy and clinical consultation through her private practice.
