AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital is undergoing significant expansion with two major construction projects.
These initiatives, funded by donors and philanthropic efforts, are separate from the previously reported Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
One key project is the Kisner Foundation and Friends Center for Pediatric Behavioral Health and Wellness.
Construction began last April, and the hospital is now offering a first look inside the new facility.

This center will not only provide dedicated behavioral health services but also bring together several other departments in a new, centralized location for improved family access.
Additionally, the hospital is expanding its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
This project will add eight new beds to the existing 14, increasing capacity for critically ill children.
These expansions aim to enhance specialized care and better serve families in the region.
We will continue to update this article with further details on the timeline for these projects and their impact on local families.
