VICTORIA COUNTY, Texas – The Victoria County Behavioral Health and Mental Hospital has been in the planning process for several years. The county hired SpawGlass Construction, which will manage construction of the facility and bring in subcontractors to begin the building process.
Jody Beckcom, executive vice president of SpawGlass, says his company has been working on the project for some time and is now ready to move forward.
“We originally went under contract with the county in December 2024. We have worked all of last year to build out the design. Our design is now complete, and we are sending the design documents out to subcontractors to get qualified bids,”said Beckcom.
Beckcom says the current plan is to begin construction in March and have the facility completed by November 2027. He also says all subcontractors will be local.
The Victoria County Behavioral Health and Mental Hospital will be located on Big Bend Drive near the Victoria Regional Airport.
