CENTER VALLEY, PA (Feb. 10, 2026) — On January 31st, 2026, the DeSales University men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted the fourth annual active minds and mental health awareness game. Active Minds is a non-profit organization focused on raising mental health awareness, reducing the stigma around mental health, and encouraging young adults to seek help when needed.

The DeSales chapter is led by Mikaili Donmoyer, who first joined Active Minds during her first year of college, and slowly has been taking on more responsibilities each year. As president of the chapter, it is up to Donmoyer to ensure that general meetings and events, such as the mental health awareness game is as successful as possible.

For the Saturday doubleheader, both teams, DeSales cheerleaders, family members and spectators wore active minds shirts that read “human > athlete”. Active Minds members decorated the gym with posters, balloons and streamers encouraging people to reach out for help if needed. Before the game, spectators were encouraged to participate in basket and 50/50 raffles where the funds were donated to Active Minds.

Active Minds encourages student athletes to talk about what struggles they may be facing and allows other club members and students to see they are not alone in any struggles they may be facing.
