  1. Yah most of the clothes I packed when I first went to a hospital weren’t allowed because they were “too short” shorts had to be down to your knees and no tank tops were allowed they also gave us AWFUL brushes that did nothing but pulled on my hair basically had a rats nest the whole time I was there

  2. Im autistic and have curly hair, i need certain brushes, shampoo and conditioner otherwise I dont shower ( yes it sounds gross but its how i do things ) also mint burns my mouth, like actually feels like liqhid nitrogen is in my mouth so i cry if i eat anything minty 😅 i have a watermelon toothpaste i use instead bc im just picky idk

  3. i had to wear a gown with my ass out because my clothes were not allowed. i went to lunch as bare as a babe. suddenly my clothes were checked and ok. i have super sensitive skin and the gown scratched me open and they thought i harmed myself i told them about my skin being like that. gods im not sure if they let me out because i am ok or because i drove themj up a wall with my constant singing of space taxy

  4. !!!Read this if you are planing to go to a mental hospital or get your kid there!!!
I got to mental hospital for my autism diagnosis i don't know much about other mental hospital but the one i was in i got depression after it. I truly whanted to end myself there, becouse of the nurses and enviroment. That was realy hard becouse before that i was pretty happy with my life, and after, well i don't feel the joy the same way. Food reminds me of that place, starving dose to, gym reminds me of that place, laying in bed to. Snow reminds me of that place, rain dose to. Kids reminds me of that place, adults dose to. Showers reminds me of that place, baths dose to. I don't know what to do with my life.
!!!Please, when geting your kids to a mental hospital or going there yourself find out if it's good.!!!
Me and many kids that got there while i was there, left it feeling lot worse. So Please, do not make everyting worse there might be good mental hospitals out there and if you need help get that hepl, just make sure that that help is good.
    !!!Please, just do some reserch.!!!

  5. I was at a state hospital in the early 90s. We were actually allowed a radio/cassette player, "boombox" and/or Walkman. Pre-cell phones obv. There was a payphone at the end of the girls and boys wards.

  6. Is there a way I could ask them to lock my phone away? I’d rather have it there than back at home. Plus, my dad is going to be super mad about my depression so if he finds my phone it’ll be even worse. I don’t feel safe in my home anymore

  7. I thought I would get smart when I was 16 and had to go to an inpatient hospital for my undiagnosed ADHD that they thought was borderline personality disorder, bipolar, medical depressive, and a litany of other things since I didn't fit squarely in one label they just decided to try them all along with a pretty package of pills that caused more harm than they ever could have caused good.
This was in 1994. I tried to take my soap out of its box put a pack of cigarettes in there and close it up with a glue stick not a hot glue stick mind you just a regular old arts and craft glue stick. It had popped open before they even started my inventory intake. Other things that are probably pretty easy to figure out that they don't let you take is mouthwash, contact wash for those of you who are contacts, hand sanitizer, basically anything with any kind of an alcohol base or that can be disguised to look like something else when actually you've got alcohol or hiding drugs in it. no razor blades they email you taken a large razor. Depending on the hospital some won't even let you bring in make up because they want you focused on your treatment and not your appearance but I think that's more geared towards private rehab centers than behavior modification boutique foothills
