A 50-year-old registered sex offender who failed to meet Megan’s Law requirements was recently taken into custody, state police reported.
Police investigated Louis Gibson, of Yeadon, Delaware County, and found that he had failed to comply with his monthly Megan’s Law reporting requirements for several months, putting him in a non-compliant status.
On Monday, police said Gibson was found residing at 286 Stephens Road in West Brunswick Twp., an address he had never reported under Megan’s Law. He was arrested, charged with multiple violations of Megan’s Law and remanded to Schuylkill County Prison, according to police.
Woman charged in car incident
A 29-year-old Pottsville woman is facing criminal mischief charges after police said she used her car to strike and damage a parked vehicle in Port Carbon, while her juvenile children were in the car with her.
State police said that Cassidy Nush was the driver in the Feb. 12 incident in a location along Rose Avenue.
A 1-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl from Port Carbon, along with a 31-year-old Shenandoah woman, were listed as victims, according to a police report.
Man charged with harassment
A 30-year-old Tamaqua man was cited with harassment after he had the power shut off at a residence in Pine Grove Twp., state police said.
In December, Austin Donton contacted PPL and asked to shut off the power at his former residence, where an estranged family member lives, according to police. PPL arrived and canceled the power on the day of his request, police said.
After speaking with PPL, police found that Donton had gained access to the victim’s PPL account by phone and indicated he wanted the power turned off. PPL said they required no password information or other credentials and honored Donton’s request.
Man sought for PFA violation
State police are seeking a 44-year-old Maryland man for violating a protection from abuse order against a 51-year-old woman in East Union Twp.
Police said they responded to a residence on Green Mountain Road for a report of a PFA violation by Kevin Needle, of Mount Airy. From Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, Needle contacted the victim via telephone (phone calls, text messages and voicemails), potentially exceeding 100 times, police said.
Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Needle for a count of contempt for violation of order or agreement.
