United Way of the Wabash Valley announced behavioral health impact grants totaling $134,160 at its 2026 Annual Meeting. This funding completes a $168,976 investment to improve mental health services in six counties.
Chances and Services for Youth received $40,000 to expand counseling for young children. Naveen got $20,000 to start a new psychiatry residency program, boosting the mental health workforce. Ruth House was awarded $40,000 to increase its capacity to help more women in Sullivan County. Wabash Valley Recovery Center received $34,160 for a full-time Peer Recovery Coach in Clark County, Illinois.
United Way also invested $2.48 million in local programs in 2025, benefiting one in three children in the Wabash Valley. Board President Amanda Hogue emphasized regional collaboration, saying, “United Way’s strength lies in collective action.”
The meeting honored community partners and donors with awards, including Michael Collins and the Terre Haute Human Relations Commission.
