The Alverno College graduate programs in Community Psychology and School Psychology are hosting a mental health summit focused on technology and the innovative ways it can transform mental health care across schools, communities and healthcare systems, with an emphasis on improving access, equity and outcomes for diverse populations. The event will take place on March 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Alverno College, with limited virtual options available.
The opening keynote will be given by Amanda Kidwell, EdS, NCSP and Jason Witt, MA, and will focus on how artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the mental health arena in both school and clinical settings. The closing keynote will be given by Daniel L. Icenogle, JD, MD, and will explore the ethical issues presented by the use of various AI software and other programs in the treatment of mental health clients. In addition to the keynotes, the summit includes breakout sessions and a resource fair.
The Alverno College Mental Health Summit brings together mental health practitioners, community leaders and students to explore a relevant topic in the field of mental health. The event is free and open to mental health practitioners, community leaders and students, and several of the sessions qualify for National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) or National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) continuing education credits.
